  • Do I have to purchase the hardware used in my network?
    No, the Wi-Fi access points, and Ethernet switches are provided as part of the Shasta Cloud NaaS offering.
  • What is meant by an Open Approach to Networking?
    Shasta Cloud is moving away from legacy LAN architectures that make extensive use of proprietary protocols and toward an open approach that allows for greater flexibility in the choice of network hardware.
  • What are the advantages of an Open Approach to Networking?
    Provides more choice in hardware, greater feature velocity, no vendor lock-in, lower prices on commodity hardware, and less supply chain risk.
  • Do you support Open APIs?
    We fully support Open APIs that greatly simplify the task of integrating the Shasta Cloud solution into the MSP’s backend systems for trouble ticketing, billing, ordering, logistics, etc.
  • How do you charge for your service?
    We charge a monthly subscription fee that is determined by the number of Wi-Fi access points and Ethernet switches in the network.
  • Do you build your own hardware?
    No, all hardware is sourced from our network of 3rd party hardware manufacturers who build equipment that is Shasta Cloud Certified. We take full responsibility for all certified hardware and embedded software and act as a single point of contact for support of the complete system.
  • Who are the hardware manufacturers that build Shasta Certified Hardware?
    Please see our online marketplace for the current list of supported manufacturers and SKUs.
  • Do I need to interact with the hardware vendors?
    No, Shasta Cloud acts as a single point of contact for the complete solution. With Shasta Cloud you get all the benefits of open systems without any of the headaches.
  • Is there an option to purchase the hardware?
    Yes, MSPs can purchase the hardware and still contract for a service that provides full lifecycle management.
  • Can I specify the manufacturer of the hardware used in my service?
    Yes, as long as it’s Shasta Cloud Certified.
  • Does your service involve regular hardware upgrades?
    All hardware will be refreshed on a regular basis (on average every 5 years) to guarantee that you always have the latest technology in their network.
  • What is the cost of this automatic refresh?
    There is no added cost, it’s included in the monthly subscription fee.
  • Who installs the network?
    Shasta Cloud technology is part of a service that is rolled out by our MSP partners. They will provide all boots on the ground and manage the direct end-customer engagement.
  • How do I keep track of network performance?
    Each MSP partner has access to an online portal that gives them real-time information on the performance of their network.
  • Has your solution been deployed by any MSPs?
    Yes, we began to deploy networks in Q2 of 2023.
